Root Canal: Post-Operative Instructions
During root canal treatment, you will have some sort of temporary restoration/filling to cover the cavity in your tooth. The material is weaker and is not as stable as the final restoration that will protect your tooth after the root canal treatment is completed.
While you have the temporary restoration in place:

No Chewing on that side

No Flossing that tooth, but continue flossing between and around your other teeth

Gently Brush that tooth or avoid it if you do not feel comfortable doing so

Take Medications (pain and antibiotics) as instructed
Call the Office

If the pain medication is not alleviating the pain.

If the pain or swelling lasts longer than 3 days.

If the temporary filling is loose or absent.
